Recovery doesn’t stop when pain goes away — it evolves. At Northwest Chiropractic in Olympia, we believe in continued care to protect what’s healed, strengthen what’s been rebuilt, and help your body stay functioning at its best. Many of our patients stay active here in the South Sound — hiking, gardening, or spending long hours at work — and wellness care helps keep their bodies moving smoothly through it all.
What Is Wellness Care
Wellness (or maintenance) chiropractic is follow-up care designed to preserve spinal alignment, mobility, and nervous system balance. It’s not acute care, but preventive: catching small misalignments before they cause pain or stiffness again.
Who Should Consider Wellness Care
-
People completing their corrective phase who want to reduce flare-ups
-
Those with recurring issues that tend to return
-
Individuals seeking better posture, mobility, or overall vitality
-
Anyone looking to support long-term health rather than episodic care
How We Approach Wellness Care
We personalize wellness care based on your history, current alignment, and goals. That might include:
-
Periodic chiropractic adjustments (often at less frequency)
-
Movement & stretching routines tailored to you
-
Posture coaching and ergonomics refresh
-
Soft tissue or massage support as needed
-
Review of goals, self-care plans, and prevention strategies
Wellness visits are lighter than active care — they’re intended to maintain gains, not rebuild structure.
What You Can Expect
Expect fewer visits than during a symptomatic phase — maybe once a month, or based on how your body responds. These visits help you stay tuned to your body’s signals so you intervene early if something feels off again.
You’ll leave with small tweaks, movement reminders, or alignment checks — often the changes are subtle but compound over time.
When Wellness Isn’t Enough
If pain, numbness, or functional decline returns, it may signal you need another round of active or corrective care. In those cases, we’ll reassess, possibly retest, and return to a more intensive phase before tapering back to wellness.
Who You’ll Work With
Your wellness plan will be guided by Dr. Jake McCullough or Dr. Ed McCullough, depending on what your body needs. Support staff like Sarah, PT, or Josee, LMT, may assist with movement coaching or soft tissue care to support your ongoing well-being.
